Things I Will Miss. Things I Won't.

Praise the Lord! I am 34 weeks today! I can't believe how fast it's going now. I can't believe we may only have 6 weeks left before meeting our baby boy face to face! I have told many friends that the first half of the pregnancy went by incredibly slow due to my sickness, but this second half has just been speeding by! As I think back on these past 8 months, here are some things I will and will NOT miss about pregnancy :

Will NOT Miss:
  • 24/7 nausea from week 5 to week 25 or so.
  • Rarely having an appetite.
  • Feeling weak, faint, and lightheaded almost constantly (low blood pressure).
  • Being HOT. ALL. THE. TIME. (I have estimated my temp to be about 10 degrees higher than the average person at any given moment, since the first month of pregnancy.)
  • Sore ribs from baby kicks!
  • Constant feeling of needing to urinate regardless of the actual need...
  • Heartburn and Tums.
  • People saying how huge I look...err...thanks.
  • Not being able to sing for more than a song or two before almost passing out and having to sit down.
  • My ears strangely plugging and popping randomly, usually while singing.
  • Not being able to sleep on my back or stomach.
  • Swallowing multiple large pills daily.
  • Hearing horror stories of pregnancy and labor from others.

    Will Miss:
    • Baby kicks beginning at 17 weeks...they never get old!
    • Visibly watching my stomach bulge and ripple with every baby movement and making others appreciate it as well :)
    • Rubbing my tummy.
    • Baby hiccups (now about twice a day!)
    • Wearing comfy maternity pants with stretchy waistbands! ha...was that out loud? I may just keep on wearing them...
    • Having an excuse for my poor memory.
    • Being a walking oven (I imagine will miss this when MN winter hits full force).
    • An instant conversation starter with strangers. "You're pregnant, aren't you!?" I have so wanted to say "no..." and see what they do, but haven't gotten up the courage to be this mean yet.
    • How easy it is to take care of baby and carry him around right now.
    • Getting a good night's sleep :) Yes, praise God I have been sleeping well the whole pregnancy
Here are some pictures from one of my baby showers this past weekend and of me at 34 weeks now. Thank you to all of you who showered me with your love, encouragement, and gifts!

My sister Kirstin flew up from Chicago to surprise me at one of my baby showers and Dan's mom came as well!
