Norah: 4 Months

Hard to believe Norah Jane is 4 months old now. I can't help but compare my memories of Charlie at this age. The first 4 months as brand new parents to a somewhat colicky baby seemed to go by so slowly, as we couldn't wait for him to get older and reach all these different milestones. I look back at the past 4 months with our second baby and see a blur. It has truly gone by so much faster than the first time. Norah is more easygoing, and I'm sure as second-time parents, we are a bit more relaxed, as well. I've tried harder to enjoy each moment, even if the moments do sometimes seem to blur together.

Stats: 13 lbs. 6 oz., 24.5 inches

This past month was full of firsts for Norah:
* First Thanksgiving
* First roadtrip.
* First time out of state/ to Chicago.
* First time meeting Great Grandpa Kent, Uncle Tyler/Auntie Sara, Uncle Cory/Auntie Ali, and Kent cousins!
* First Christmas.
* First sickness :( Note: It is NOT fun to watch a 3 month old get the stomach flu. Thankfully, she recovered quicker than anyone else - we were all sick-  and was happy through it all.
* First time around animals (5 cats!)

Besides these "firsts," Norah also has a lot of new tricks:
* Recognizing familiar faces (me, Dan, Charlie, Marme & Grandpa, etc.) and smiling interactively :)
* Laughing much more often and easily. We even caught it on video finally! Now I only have to laugh at her or even just look at her wide-eyed and she laughs! Nothing better.
* Reaching for and grasping objects and pulling them to her mouth.
* Mimicking us when we buzz our lips/blow bubbles
* Sticking out her tongue! It's so cute and now she does it constantly.
* Refusing to recline back at all and instead using her elbows to push herself into a sitting up position.

After 4 months, it's still sometimes hard to believe we have a little girl. What fun it's been so far!
