Norah: 7 Months

 

  
Well, another month has come and gone, and our little Norah is now 7 months old (plus one week. Better late than never, right?). Here are some things she's up to lately:
  

• Learning to sit and balance longer than a minute or two. 
• Says, "Da da da da da" and "Ya ya ya ya" a lot! Dan claims this is her first word (Dada) :)
• Shaking her head back and forth as if to say, "no" when she's happy, tired, or for no reason at all. It's actually quite humorous. We call her our little Stevie Wonder. 
• Growing some teeth! She has her two bottom middle teeth in and seems to be working on more.
• Waking up a ton at night still... Some day I will sleep again...
• Eating her feet, especially in the bath when they are tempt her most.
• Trying to eat Charlie's feet whenever he's standing nearby, which he responds to with shrieking loudly.
• Loving attention. If no one is looking at her, she cries hysterically. As soon as you give her a glance, she breaks out into huge smiles. Oh dear. 
• Trying to figure out how to crawl and not just go in circles! She's got her arms down, crawling like a mermaid on land, but now she has to figure out how to get those knees working! Over time she somehow inches backwards quite a distance, but you can't ever actually see it happening. 
• Chewing on sweatshirt strings or shoe laces are her favorite... when she's not batting at my curls and trying to grab handfuls of my hair. Sometimes I swear she is a cat. 
• Vocalizing loudly. Whereas she used to wake up as a newborn in the night and not even cry, she now screams like she's dying before I feed her (multiple times a night). Her cries sound angry a lot now, but she turns so sweet once she's held. Drama drama drama. 
• She's so ticklish! Even in the middle of crying she will stop to laugh if I'm tickling her tummy. 
• Those eyelashes just get longer and longer, while her hair...well, it's still hardly there. I think it's finally starting to grow a bit in the back, so she should have a nice mullet shortly. 

Stats: 15 lbs 5 oz. (Just a tad more than Charlie weighed at 3 months), 25" long, wears size 3-6 month or 6 month clothing.
She's somehow chubby with rolls on her legs, yet still quite petite! We love our little Norah baby, Cutie Pie, Norah Bora! Yes, all very original nicknames we call her :)
