So, our little girl is 11 months. Besides the craziness of learning she most likely has FPIES (see previous post here), this month we have been enjoying all the new ways she has been growing and personality emerging. Here's Norah at 11 months...
* She loves to crawl, climb, stand holding on to furniture, cruise around furniture, and get into all kinds of stuff.
* She thinks it is hilarious when you chase her up the stairs and she is a fast climber!
* Norah is still very cuddly and sweet, yet a little stubborn! She has a great sense of humor, and loves to laugh.
* Although her solid foods are limited right now, she sure loves eating them! She has mostly been eating bananas, peaches, and avocado lately. As per her doctor, she will be starting on the intro GAPS diet which begins with homemade chicken broth/gelatin soon to help strengthen her gut and fatten her up! :)
* While she's a generally quiet baby, when she does make noise, she grunts and growls and roars and shrieks...so funny. Even her laughs sometimes sound like growling.
* She makes the funniest face sometimes, scrunching up her nose and sniffing in and out. She knows it makes us laugh now, so she laughs after she does it, too. Similarly, whenever she sees a Kleenex now, she does it and can actually blow her nose when we hold the tissue up to her!
* Norah learned her first baby sign the other day and signed "milk" when she wanted to nurse :)
* She took a break from waving the past month or two and just took it back up again... she opens and closes her fist to wave at us :)
* Norah recently started clapping! If we ask her to clap she does it immediately and happily!
* The other day at the zoo as I was crawling through a fake log with Charlie in one of the exhibits, Norah spotted me as we were crawling out the end, got the biggest smile on her face and pointed at me with her finger. Pointing: check.
* Her favorite toys continue to be "little people" she puts in her mouth (head first always) so that people who walk by her in the stroller chuckle every time. She also loves bouncy balls which she plays with and carries around in her mouth like a puppy. She's developing an attachment to a tiny stuffed bird called "Blue" from the movie "Rio"...so cute.
* Her favorite book is "I'm a Little Caterpillar" with a finger puppet caterpillar. She cannot contain her excitement each time we read it.
* She loves animals so much that whenever she sees a dog or cat, even far away, she starts squealing and pointing and laughing!
* Her only words are still "Mama" and "Dada" but she's using them more often now. She will look at Charlie when we say his name, too.
* Although she sleeps about 13-14 hours at night, she wakes between one and two times to nurse in the night, and our doctor said while she should be sleeping through the night by now, it makes sense because of the FPIES and poor growth that she still needs to eat in the night. So I try and treasure the night feedings knowing they won't be here forever and someday I will get a good night's sleep :)
* She loves rides in her stroller, being outside, and even rides in her carseat (who'd have thought!?). She giggles every time we open the door to get her out, and just started reaching more for us with her arms.
* She has 4 teeth, two upper, two lower.
Stats: 17 lbs, 26 3/4 inches. Wears 6-9 month clothing.
