A Precious Photo

About a month ago, Dan and I got new phones. I had only ever owned one phone and had it for the past 5 years...our flip phones had served us well, but it was time to say goodbye. Along with saying goodbye came transferring (or attempting to transfer) all the years of 2 megapixel pictures taken, contacts, etc. Not a big fan of this process. About a week after our old phones had been disconnected, Dan turns on his old phone and looks through the pictures he never bothered to transfer over. Now, here's where I have to tell you a side story...

When I was in labor with Charlie, we decided to have our doula videotape his birth. For the first part, she used our camera to take the video, until it died. So, because our camera battery was dead, we never got those first brand new pictures of Charlie like we had wanted (plus, due to the complications after he was born, we weren't thinking too much of picture taking). Since his birth, I've mentioned to Dan and others how I wish we would have had a picture of the first time I held him, and of when he was only a few moments old. Our first pictures of us as a family were taken with my dad's camera about 4  or 5 hours after he was born. Ok, back to the first story...

...So, as Dan is looking through his pictures on his phone, he says, "Oh, here's the picture I took of Charlie when they were weighing him for the first time in the hospital." WHAT?? I didn't even know this picture existed! I told him to email it to himself ASAP, but realized our phones had been disabled so we couldn't. So sad. Finally, in my desperation, I took pictures of the picture on Dan's phone! I'm glad we at least have a copy (albeit a poor one) of the first picture ever taken of Charlie. I treasure this photo.

  1. What a fun picture! So glad you have a copy. :)

I wonder if your phone store could get the data and the real photo off the phone??

  2. Which Kristi is this? I have about 7 possibilities here... :)

Too late for help from Verizon... Dan already deleted it and we donated our old phones. Oh well, I'm content with the ones above :)
