I love fall. It's always been my favorite season, and because it lasts for such a short time here in Minnesota, I never get sick of it, always looking forward to its return the next year. I know it's not fall yet, but the weather these past two days have certainly been fall-like. And I get so giddy when the temps drop to between 60-70 with a slight breeze (or even gusty winds like today!). I really think of autumn as God's gift to me. I love the changing of all the seasons and how He created the changes for our livelihood and enjoyment, but I secretly hope heaven has a never ending season of autumn. Dan would tell you differently. He starts getting cranky as fall comes around as he would like it to be as hot as possible, please. But I try to change his mind each year by listing off all the wonderful things about fall:
- cool (or I would go as far as to say 'perfect') weather
- sweatshirts
- bundling up with a blanket at a baseball game
- campfires
- that clean, crisp smell in the air!
- taking walks on top of crunchy leaves
- pretty colors
- apple picking and hayrides
- the fall breeze
- no humidity
- my favorite dessert ever: double layer pumpkin cheesecake...
- hot chocolate/hot coffee/hot apple cider
- (Ok, had to add: Pumpkin Spice Lattes from Starbucks!!!! Fall in a cup. Yum!)
And specifically with this fall...the arrival of our first baby (if the end of Nov/ beginning of Dec still counts as fall in Minnesota- maybe not)! Day 200 today of pregnancy...only 80 more to go!
