Charlie: 2 Months on 2/2!

How is it possible? As much as I love seeing my baby grow up, I hate it. He's no longer tiny...ok, so he was never tiny but he's no longer an 8 lb 12 oz, 21.5 inch long newborn. Today he's a 2 month old who looks like a 3 or 4 month old. He is now 23.5 inches long (75%), weighs 13 lbs, 6 oz (90%), and has a head circumference of 16.5  inches (90%). Though he held his head up from day one, he now holds it up very strong and for very long periods of time. He smiles whenever we smile at him, sing to him, or play him music. He "talks" to us (coos) a lot with such facial expressions that it looks like he is really trying to communicate! For the past month and a half he keeps his legs so straight and strong and puts his weight on them like he is standing when we hold him. A couple weeks ago while placing him on his tummy, he rolled over to his back! This was around the same time he began making fish faces for our enjoyment :) He is finally getting better from his acid reflux/gas issues that started around 3 weeks, after cutting dairy out of my diet (so sad!), giving him some probiotic powder, and taking him to the chiropractor a couple times. Praise God he has improved! He is so much happier now and is back to practically sleeping through the night again in his moses basket in our room (6 hour stretch, up for feeding and then another 5 hour stretch!). He still loves being in his baby wrap, bath time in his washpod, and sitting up in his corner of the couch. He loves new people and places and is turning out to be quite the extrovert (not sure where he gets that from with two introverted parents!). He can see people across the room and follows them with his eyes. Daddy says he loves football already, since he seems mesmerized by the tv whenever colorful football is on (great, now I'm outnumbered). Day one of his cloth diapering experience went well...he likes how soft they are on him and no leaks overnight! Hooray! He's also learning about God and how He created him from nothing and how He loves him very much. Charlie is amazed. So are we.

"Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high; I cannot attain it ... For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed from me, when as yet there were none of them." Psalm 139:6, 13-16
