Happy Distractions

Today I am the least patient I have been so far and the most uncomfortable/in pain. I'm not sure what is so great about this little guy's womb (pun intended) that he doesn't want to come out and see the Christmas decorations we put up last night! While I was surprisingly able to sleep 11 hours last night, getting out of bed into the upright position was the most painful thing I have experienced this entire pregnancy. Since then, I have been in so much pain, from pressure and weird nerve things and hips and spine bones (real technical I know) feeling out of place, that I can hardly walk. It seriously takes everything in me to walk a few steps without collapsing in pain. Now I not only feel enormous but old, too.

At least we got to put up our Christmas tree last night while listening to Christmas music to distract me from the impatience. (Although I have to say when Dan played Neil Diamond's Christmas album I was pained again...) I'm thankful we got to enjoy a nice Thanksgiving dinner at Dan's parents' house on Thursday and then have the time to put up our Christmas decorations before our little one (or most likely 'big one') arrives. But now pretty much everything is done. Our bags are even 99% packed and sitting in the living room waiting to go. So now what to do when walking is pretty much out of the question? My only plan for the day is to take a bath and pray he comes REALLY soon.

Oh, here is something that was humorous to us today (and another happy distraction for me). We had a plastic bag/cover from a bath pillow we bought the other day and it had some loose suction cups left in the bag before we had assembled it. Gus decided he wanted to play with them, but he could not figure out why he could see them but not get to them (through the clear bag). Not the smartest cat in the world, but gave us a few laughs...

P.S. We have a winner for the "guess the date" contest... Mom, you win as you picked the last date (today)... you will most likely win the weight as well since you picked the heaviest one...ha.

  1. Yay for me! I would feel better about winning, if the little sweetie would be here by midnite! Love that Black cat! And the tree so beautiful....looks very peaceful in your home!
