So, Dan and I have been keeping a chart of weight loss and how we feel on a scale of 1-10 each day of our juicing. Day 3 was definitely a 1 (as in, the worst) for obvious reasons. Since then I've been feeling much better by simply adding in some almonds and sunflower seeds for protein and fats, and spreading them out throughout the day. Today, Day 5, we both rated our mood/energy level at a 9! Even along with the little cravings here and there, we feel pretty full and satisfied throughout the day. We have much more energy than before, and we've each lost around 4-5 pounds already. All that said, we started making a list of foods we are craving to celebrate the end with... haha...but not celebrate too much :)
Wanted to share the juice recipe we made for dinner tonight. It tastes like you're drinking salsa! That may or may not sound gross to you, but it may be one of my favorite "green" drinks so far. We omitted the jalapeno (because Dan was scared), but otherwise, this is what we drank:
- 1 mango
- 1 cucumber
- 1 yellow pepper (capsicum)
- 1 jalapeno pepper
- 4 green onions or scallions (shallots)
- ½-1 cup cilantro
- 1 lime
- 4 cups kale
- 4 cups spinach
- 4 small green apples
We really wanted to get out the tortilla chips with this drink, but refrained. Only five more days...
